One Year Anniversary of DanylkoWeb: What's Next?

August 31st, 2015

I can't believe it's been a year since I started DanylkoWeb. Where do I go from here? This is a question I pose to my readers.

Over the past year, we have had a great number of users who have visited DanylkoWeb. I cannot emphasis how appreciative I am to have such great readers who share my content with the world.

Since the site started in September 6th of 2014, I've written over 100 posts (this one is 110) on every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (I've missed a day or two).

I've dedicated time to write about how to code better in ASP.NET MVC, show users how to refactor into patterns making your code easier to maintain, answered a number of questions from users by creating posts, and posted general technology software reviews and awesome kickstarter projects.

I couldn't have done this without you, the community, and I thank each and every one of you for your readership.

But on my side, there is a problem. There is more to be done with DanylkoWeb.

What's Next?

I've been busy with a lot of work lately and I will be announcing some news coming up in a future post, but for now, here's what's been happening.

With these items on my to-do list, as always, I will be sharing my experiences with you.

However, I need your help.

What is valuable to you?

While I'm extremely excited about the next year of DanylkoWeb, I need some assistance from my readers.

Yes, You! :-)

I have an idea of how to expand DanylkoWeb, but I would like to ask my valued readers for their feedback as to my direction.

My two simple questions for my readers are:

  1. What type of post did you like most on the site in the past year?

I am always trying to provide the best content to my readers and want to publish more great content, but I want to know what you like (yes, it's all about you!).

Did you like all of the Real-World refactorings? Did you like the WebGrid and MVC Optimization series and want more series-like posts on a particular topic? Do you want to focus more on ASP.NET MVC basics?

This is your chance to tell me what you liked over the past year.

  2. What new feature would you like to see added to DanylkoWeb that would be valuable to you?

You might have seen something on a website where you wonder how they did it. Do you want a new feature on DanylkoWeb called Latest Tech to explain it? Do you want a forum for ASP.NET MVC specific issues? Would you want a job board for ONLY ASP.NET MVC positions? More mobile? Want outrageous tech T-Shirts (because I have that warped mind, dontcha know) ;-)

The new feature would be something valuable to you.

For the survey, I decided to go with SurveyMonkey to find out more from my readers. There are only two questions to answer, it's strictly anonymous, and shouldn't take more than 2 seconds to complete.

If you could please take the survey below (If you don't see it, go here to complete it), I would be most appreciative.

Create your own user feedback survey

After a week, I will close the survey and post the results in a future blog post.

The Future

As with everyone else, I'm always trying to have a pulse on the future and looking ahead at new technologies and finding better ways to write code better and faster which is why I pose these questions to my audience.

Again, DanylkoWeb would not be what it is without your readership and I am forever grateful every time you visit.

EVERY. TIME.

So thank you for your time and thanks in advance for filling out the survey. Based on your results, I hope to make the next year the best yet.

Talk to you soon,

Jonathan (JD)

P.S. Please share this so we can get some great answers.
