STOP! Do you enjoy what your doing right now?

August 28th, 2006

How many of you enjoy your work? No? Well, do something about it!

When you were in school, did you have career day or something similar where your counselor asked you what you wanted to be in your life?

Did you have to take a test to find out or did you just know?

For those who didn't know what occupation they wanted, he would ask a simple question:

If you had all the time in the world, were financially independant, and healthy as an ox, what would you do?

Depending on your answer, he would follow through and start drilling down to possible solutions and career paths for that individual. For example, if you said that you loved working on cars, the counselor would give a career path of a mechanic or collector of cars. See? Pretty simple.

Even Mike Judge used it in the movie "Office Space," which I would definitely recommend anyone who works in a corporate environment to watch this movie as soon as possible.

There is one other quote I've heard that has stuck with me throughout my life so far.

If you love what you do, the money will follow.

So find out what you love to do, stop dreaming, and get out there and do it! It's that simple. It's a win-win scenario. Turn your hobby into a job and guess what? More than likely, you'll love your job and enjoy going "to work" everyday. Is this where the "money can't buy happiness" comes into play?

Now that I have you fired up, go check out Yaro Starack's post on How to FINALLY start your online business.

I wish you the best success in life (and you'll love it, too)
